These are some arguments that hold us back from starting a solo travel. Here is what I learnt and why even those reasons are good excuses to start one:
1.Yes, you are going to get lost. Thank God.
Does it matter if you don't know the coordinates of where you are? Throw that map away. Allow yourself to be carried away by your feelings.
2.Yes, maybe you'll lose your backpack, be robbed, your mobile will probably die... And just after that the real trip will start.
And just after that you will notice that you don't really need anything apart than other people.
3.When you travel alone, you are never alone
A solo trip is not about being by yourself, is about being open to others.
The relations that you will make will be intense, true and sincere. There's no time to be fake, there's no time to pretend or doubt.
You have it now. And you better enjoy it.
-Tip: forget your earphones at home. Be aware and open at anytime-
4.Be careful with your worst and only enemy: your mind.
I learned that what doesn't allow me to reach my dreams is not outside. All the excuses came from my brain.
Learn that you are the owner of that mind and how easy it is to say: My mind is opened now, my imagination is endless and I'll bring it to reallity. Many people will tell you that you can't. It's ok. Just show them.
Snap your fingers and make all those sentences that stop you disapear. Sentences like: "I can't", "I'm not good enough", "And what if..?". Are they really objetive problems or just figments of your imagination?
5."But darling! Anything can happen to you!", your parents will say. And that's why you will do it.
Much much love,
